Who we are

This site is run by As Hortênsias Guesthouse, Avenida Dr. Baltasar Lopes da Silva, 44, Mindelo, São Vicente, Cabo Verde. Contact for privacy matters: contactashortenciasguesthouse@gmail.com. The legal name and tax number of the operating entity are not published on this site.

What data we process

• Messages you send us: if you contact us by email or phone, we use your name, contact details and message only to reply (basis: pre-contractual steps or legitimate interest in answering requests).
• Usage statistics (Google Analytics 4): only if you accept in the cookie notice. Data such as pages viewed, device type and approximate location is collected, with IP anonymisation. Basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time under “Cookie settings” in the footer.
• Google Maps: the map is loaded only when you click “Load map”; at that point your browser communicates with Google.
• Technical server logs: the site’s hosting provider may record IP addresses and requests for security and operation. This site has no forms, user accounts or payments.

Bookings and external links

Bookings are made on Booking.com. When you click a booking button you leave this site and Booking.com’s privacy policy applies; it is responsible for the data you enter there. The same applies to links to Facebook and Google Maps. This site uses no affiliate identifiers.

International transfers

Google Analytics is provided by Google, which may process data outside the country where you are. As it is only activated with your consent, you can decline it without losing any site functionality.

Retention

Messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your request. The retention period for Google Analytics data is set in the house’s Analytics account.

Your rights

You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or objection to the processing of your data, and withdraw consent. Write to contactashortenciasguesthouse@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority — in Cape Verde, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD) — or, if you live in the European Union, with the authority in your country.
